Affiliate disclosure

Last updated: 31 October 2026

The short version: Gumnutly is reader-supported. Some links on this site are, or may become, affiliate links. If you buy through one, we may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. Commissions never decide what we recommend.

How affiliate links work

When you click some of the links on Gumnutly and then buy something, the merchant may pay us a small commission. You pay the same price either way. Commissions help cover writing, hosting and the time it takes to research makers properly.

We put a short disclosure near the top of every page that has these links, before the first link.

Programs we may use

  • Amazon.com.au Associates Program.
  • Etsy Affiliates Program (run through Rakuten Advertising).
  • Commission Factory, an Australian affiliate network that works with a number of Australian retailers.

If a link goes to a merchant we have no arrangement with, it’s a plain link and earns us nothing. We link to those merchants anyway when they’re the right pick.

What affiliate links don’t change

  • What we recommend. A product makes a list because it suits the person you’re buying for, not because it pays a commission.
  • What we say about it. We don’t accept payment for reviews or placements, and merchants don’t see or approve our articles before they’re published.
  • The facts. We don’t invent reviews, ratings, prices or “we tested” claims. Where something is described as Australian-made or made in a particular place, that’s the maker’s own claim, linked so you can check it.

River Reach Chalet

Some of our Margaret River guides mention River Reach Chalet, a two-bedroom holiday chalet in Margaret River, Western Australia.

Disclosure: River Reach Chalet was previously our founder’s business, and our founder still has a financial interest in it.

This means we have a material connection to the chalet. If you book it, our founder may benefit financially. Links to the chalet and its direct-booking page are not affiliate links, but we treat the connection with the same openness:

  • We flag it next to the first mention of the chalet in every article.
  • We always list other places to stay alongside it, and we never claim it’s the “best” option.
  • We don’t publish guest reviews unless they’re quoted accurately from a real listing and linked to it.
