Our own product line
Handmade by Gumnutly
Alongside our guides, we make a small range of wooden pieces ourselves. Each one is cut, shaped and finished by hand from Australian timber, so no two are quite the same.
Every piece is a little different, because the grain is.

Wooden koala
A little koala small enough to hold in one hand, cut, shaped and finished by hand from Australian timber. Every piece is a little different, because the grain is.

Wooden cross
A simple wall cross, shaped, sanded and oiled by hand from a solid piece of West Australian jarrah, with a hole in the back for hanging. It’s small enough to hold, too.
See the jarrah cross in the Gumnutly shop on Amazon Handmade →
These are our own products, so we earn from every sale. The Amazon link is also an affiliate link: as an Amazon Associate we earn from qualifying purchases.

Where Gumnutly started
Margaret River and the South West
Margaret River is where Gumnutly started looking at regional makers, and it’s a cracking place to visit. Our guides cover a two-day itinerary, wineries with a proper designated-driver plan, family days, nature walks, where to stay and what to bring home.

Every South West guide
- A Margaret River weekend itinerary: 2 days, 2 nights
- Australian-made gifts from Margaret River: wine, chocolate, cheese, olive oil
- Margaret River wineries worth the drive, with a designated-driver plan
- Where to stay in Margaret River: town, bush or coast
- Margaret River with kids: beaches, caves and rainy-day ideas
- A South West WA nature day: Cape to Cape walks, karri forest, black cockatoos
- What to pack for a South West WA bush stay
- Christmas and summer in Margaret River: what’s on and what to book early

How we choose
Why trust our picks
We’re a small editorial team that would rather recommend five good things than fifty forgettable ones. Here’s what we stick to:
- We only call something Australian-made when the maker says so, and we link to where they say it. If a maker doesn’t state where a product is made, we say that too.
- No made-up reviews, ratings or prices. Prices change, so we send you to the merchant to check.
- We flag the fiddly bits, such as food that won’t clear customs in some countries, or wooden items that need declaring.
- A commission never decides what makes the list. Some links earn us a small cut, and we tell you so at the top of every page.
